CUPID AND PSYCHE by Antonio Canova (small size)

Item: SR77377
Bronzed resin statue finished by hand in each particular detail. “Cupid and Psyche” is one of the most famous statues by the sculptor Antonio Canova, created approximately between 1787 and 1793 and currently exhibited at the Louvre Museum in Paris, while a second copy (always by the same sculptor) is exhibited at the Museum Hermitage in St. Petersburg in Russia. The statue portrays a Bacchante embraced by a faun, in a subtle symbolic representation of refined eroticism.
